John 18. Day 223 - The New Testament in a Year
John 18. Day 223 - The New Testament in a Year
Jesus’ Arrest in the Garden. Jesus’ Trial Before the High Priest. Jesus Before Pilate.
“My kingdom is not of this world,” said Jesus. “If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would fight, so that I wouldn’t be handed over to the Jews. But as it is,[d] my kingdom is not from here.” John 18:36
In John 18, we follow Jesus through His arrest, trial, and questioning before the high priest and Pilate. Through each moment, He reveals unwavering strength and commitment to His Father’s plan. As we explore these events, we’re encouraged to reflect on how His steadfastness calls us to face challenges with faith and integrity.
We also look at Peter’s denial, contrasting Jesus’ strength with the struggles we often face in standing up for our beliefs. This chapter invites us to consider what it means to live for a kingdom "not of this world" and to commit ourselves to God’s eternal truth. Let’s learn from Jesus' example as we seek to walk courageously in our own faith journeys.
